We are incredibly grateful to Suncoast Classic Events for their extraordinary generosity and long-standing partnership with Ready for Life. Through the 2025 Suncoast Kingfish Classic and the Suncoast Ladies Classic tournaments, an incredible $38,000 was raised to support former foster care young adults and young families as they work toward stability, independence, and brighter futures. We’re so thankful for the people who make these tournaments possible—including Erika Almond and the dedicated Suncoast Classic Events team—who work together to create something truly special. It’s the collective effort of this community, on and off the water, that drives the incredible impact year after year!

This gift represents far more than a fundraising total. It reflects the collective commitment, teamwork, and heart of the Suncoast Classic Events community: organizers, anglers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who come together year after year with a shared purpose. Their belief in the power of community-driven events continues to translate into meaningful, life-changing support for the young adults we serve.
Part of what makes these weekends so unforgettable is that they’re about fun, connection, and community just as much as fishing. Each tournament features Friday night social events where anglers and supporters kick off the weekend with energy and laughter. From lively Captain’s Parties with dinner and live music to gatherings where friends old and new catch up and celebrate the start of tournament weekend, these moments set the tone for joyful community engagement. Whether it’s shared stories over music, friendly competition in side activities, or community bingo and trivia challenges, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and fun memories are made long before lines are ever cast.
Because of this support, young adults at Ready for Life gain access to critical resources that help them move forward with confidence. Housing stability becomes more attainable during moments of crisis. Students are able to pursue GED completion, career training, and job pathways that open doors to sustainable employment. Young parents receive guidance, encouragement, and practical support that strengthen their families and help lay the groundwork for long-term independence. Each dollar raised helps transform uncertainty into opportunity.
What makes this partnership especially meaningful is its longevity. Suncoast Classic Events has stood alongside Ready for Life over multiple years, demonstrating a deep understanding that real change doesn’t happen overnight. Their continued investment shows a commitment to walking with young adults through every stage of growth, from immediate stabilization to long-term goal setting and achievement. That consistency sends a powerful message to our participants: you are not alone, and your community believes in your future.
The Suncoast Kingfish Classic and Suncoast Ladies Classic are shining examples of how passion and purpose can intersect. These tournaments bring people together around a shared love of sport while channeling that energy into something even greater: hope, stability, and opportunity for young adults aging out of foster care. Every registration, sponsorship, and volunteer hour contributes to a collective impact that extends well beyond tournament day. And every night before and after the fishing—filled with laughter, friendly games, music, and community spirit—reminds us that impact is built not only with generosity, but with joy.
Behind the scenes, it is the Suncoast Classic Events team that makes this possible. Their planning, coordination, and tireless dedication ensure that each event is not only successful, but meaningful. From logistics and outreach to sponsor engagement and volunteer coordination, their teamwork creates an environment where generosity thrives and impact multiplies. This collaborative spirit is felt by everyone involved, and most importantly, by the young adults whose lives are changed because of it.
At Ready for Life, we often talk about building bridges: bridges to education, employment, stable housing, and supportive relationships. Partnerships like the one we share with Suncoast Classic Events help make those bridges strong and enduring. Their support helps ensure that when a young adult takes a step forward, there is solid ground beneath them and a community cheering them on.
