Growing up in foster care can make it challenging to keep up with some of life’s most important learning. Moving, dealing with stress and emotional challenges, and recovering from trauma are a lot to manage as a kid. YOU did an AMAZING job to get through some extremely difficult times, and we’re here to support you further.
At Ready for Life, we offer a series of free classes and courses designed to help you catch up on essential learning. Our goal is to make it easy for you to succeed, with support options like transportation and electronic communication devices. Plus, there are some GREAT incentives too!

Opportunity Passport in partnership with Suncoast Voices for Children
Let’s face it, money is essential to making our individual worlds go round. Unlock a brighter future with Opportunity Passport! These classes help you gain financial independence by teaching smart savings strategies, managing credit, and supporting major purchases like a car or home. We match your total savings up to $3,000, giving you the boost you need to reach your goals.
Education Resources
Your path to education can start today. At Ready for Life’s state-of-the-art Spark Lab, you’ll find the tools, technology, and support to reach your goals—whether you’re earning your GED, pursuing college, or exploring a trade. Our team provides personalized guidance, education planning, and access to resources, including child care, that help you stay on track and succeed every step of the way.
Ready for Jobs
Getting a job is a big step, and we’re here to help you get there with confidence. Through our Ready for Jobs program, you’ll be matched with a dedicated Job Coach who will guide you through hands-on workshops focused on the skills that matter most: resume writing, applications, interview prep, and professional communication.
You’ll also learn soft skills, workplace etiquette, and what to expect in different work environments. Once you complete the program, Ready for Life continues to walk alongside you, offering support like interview outfits, transportation, and connections to real job opportunities in the community.

Career Exploration
Discover your future in Ready for Life’s Spark Lab, where career exploration comes to life. Whether you’re entering the workforce for the first time or looking for a fresh start, our team helps you identify your strengths, explore different career paths, and connect with real opportunities.
In the Spark Lab, you’ll get hands-on support with resume building, interview preparation, and professional development, along with access to local employers and community partners eager to hire motivated young adults. We can even help with interview attire and transportation needs, so you can take the next step toward a successful career.
Paws for Progress with SPCA Tampa Bay
Experience the therapeutic benefits of animal-assisted learning with our Paws for Progress program! This unique program combines skill-building with the calming presence of pets to help participants develop emotional resilience, improve communication skills, and cultivate a positive outlook in a supportive environment. Participants volunteer with the animals and then take part in lunch sessions to reflect, connect, and build on their experiences.
