At Ready for Life, we know that breaking generational cycles requires more than just good intentions. It takes a structured community. Many of the parents we serve didn’t grow up with positive family examples and are fighting uphill battles to create a stable home for their children.
To meet this need, the Family HOPE Center has officially restructured. We have expanded our proven program to include dynamic group classes, deeper community partnerships, and clearer pathways to long-term family stability.
Above all, this program lets parents know they are not alone. By equipping at-risk parents with critical skills, we aren’t just helping individuals. We are transforming the future of families in our community.
The Core of Our New Model: 12-Week Group Course
Launching its first cohort on September 1st, this intensive 12-week program removes the standard barriers to attendance while delivering high-impact, expert-led education.
What Happens Every Tuesday Evening:
For the Parents: A 1-hour presentation led by experts and parent educators focused on crucial life skills, healthy parenting, and emotional resilience.
For the Children: While parents learn, children participate in their own separate, structured, and supervised activities led by dedicated community partners.
Community Meals: We’ve partnered with Metropolitan Ministries to provide a warm, nutritious meal for the families during the evening, plus a take-home meal kit to support them through the week.
Removing Barriers: To ensure families can consistently attend, every parent receives a weekly gas card alongside full access to Ready for Life’s comprehensive wraparound services.
The Journey to Graduation: A 26-Week Commitment to Growth
The 12-week class is just the foundation. True, lasting change takes time, which is why our participants embark on a comprehensive 26-week journey toward graduation.
Goal Coaching: After completing 6 weeks of classes, each participant is matched with a dedicated Goal Coach to help them navigate their unique challenges and hold them accountable.
A Well-Rounded Curriculum: Throughout the 26 weeks, participants expand their horizons by attending our quarterly weekend workshops and bi-monthly Life Skills Cooking Classes (offered 5 times a year) featuring inspiring guest speakers and special events.
Earning Graduation: To graduate from the program, participants must commit to the full 26 weeks, actively engage in the workshops and cooking classes, and successfully achieve at least 3 of their measurable, personalized goals.

- 1 of Only 5: The Family HOPE Center is one of only 5 programs of its kind in the state, making our services absolutely vital to regional family preservation efforts.
Evidence-Based Intervention: We utilize the evidence-based Exchange Parent Aide model to deliver structured, data-driven intervention, in addition to providing the critical wraparound services. The Exchange Parent Aide program has been keeping children safe, in their homes, and out of foster care for over 40 years.

Become a Parent Educator: Use the Nurturing Families curriculum to lead our high-impact, 1-hour educational class on Tuesday evenings.
Volunteer as a Goal Coach: Walk alongside a parent for the final 20 weeks of their program, offering guidance, motivation, and mentorship as they work toward their goals.
Sponsor a Tuesday Night Family: A donation of $150 sponsors a family through the 12-week class intensive, covering their weekly gas cards and all educational course materials.
Share Your Expertise: Volunteer as a guest speaker or host one of our upcoming quarterly weekend workshops to share vital knowledge and life skills with our families.
