In-Kind Needs

We graciously accept in-kind donations such as emergency pantry nonperishables, brand new clothing, bicycles, auction basket items, and supplies for our Skill Center. Please take a look at our list of in-kind needs below (they are ever changing!) to see how you can contribute. Or contact us if there are other items you wish to donate!

Emergency Pantry

The pantry has become one of the most important lifeline services we offer to hundreds of young clients and their children everyday.

In-Kind Donations

From GED study guides to baby clothing, in-kind items make it possible for us to support young adults and their little ones in meaningful, practical ways.

Auction Items Needs

We have a ton of creative baskets we are putting together for our fundraising events this summer.

As a privately funded nonprofit, auctions play a big part in helping us support the needs of the young adults we serve.

Meal Planning

One of our most exciting new programs thanks to our new kitchen! These classes help youth to prevent food crisis in the future by teaching how to meal plan and cook.

Fresh Food

Periodically we need donations of fresh food, such as meat, cheese, or fruit/vegetables for emergency meal kits or our meal planning classes.

Youth Incentives

We give out gift cards to youth for participating in events, classes, and more. Donations of these gift cards is appreciated! Right now, we are in need of $10 Walmart Gift Cards

Have other supplies or items (see below for items we do not accept) that you would like to donate to Ready for Life? Contact John Feola, Strategic Partnerships Liaison, at jfeola@readyforlifepinellas.org to coordinate and call (727) 954-3989 to schedule a donation drop-off.

PLEASE NOTE: All donation drop offs must be scheduled as our Skill Center is by appointment only. Please do not leave packages outside our door as it is likely we will not get them. (If you have items for Goodwill, we do have a bin behind the Skill Center that you can use. All items must be placed IN the bin, and please do not leave any items that do not fit in the bin).

At this time we are not able to take the following items:

  • Furniture

  • Previously worn workout attire, night clothes, or under garments

  • Torn or stained items

  • Used bedding, towels, or other linens

  • Fresh produce or dairy (Unless it is specific to an upcoming meal planning class. See above for current lists.)

  • Used strollers, car seats, cribs, or baby swings

  • Toys or stuffed animals

  • Used luggage

  • Used clothing (Please note: We do take in some used clothing, however if the items are dated they are passed on through our “Giving Makes Cents” partnership with Goodwill. Goodwill gives RFL 10 cents per pound for used clothing. This fund allows us to send the young people we serve shopping for particular items they need. We have very limited storage and so the partnership serves a wonderful supportive purpose for RFL.)

If you are looking to re-home any of the items above, click here for a list of some of our local partners.
