In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, our community faces unprecedented challenges. While many rely on family and established networks during crises, former foster youth are uniquely vulnerable. They must rebuild their lives without the support of parents, extended family, or a childhood home to return to.
Ready for Life is continuing to operate as a Relief Center for former foster care young adults and their children this week from 10am–4pm daily.
We are serving hot meals, distributing essential supplies, and providing mental health counseling. Young adults can also access our shower and laundry, charge their devices and use wi-fi, and find solutions for education, employment, or housing issues with their Programs Specialist.
Thank you to the incredible number of volunteers, groups, and partners who answered our calls for supplies and manpower over the past few weeks. The young adults we serve were prepared for the worst because of you.
